I am so happy to have found this community! Allow me to introduce myself!
(1) I am a fairly new chicken owner, we got our first chicks in April.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have ten chickens total. I planned on four but couldn't help myself.
(3) What breeds do you have? We have a mixture of brown layers, and easter egger and two silkies.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I didn't expect to fall so in love with my chickens! My favorite part of raising chickens has to be watching their hilarious behavior and the togetherness it has created with our two boys.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I love all aspects of home improvement projects and interior design.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I have four children ages 24, 23, 17 and 12. We live in our dream home that we have been renovating for five years on 2 acres just outside Tampa Florida. We have three dogs, a cat, 10 chickens, a bearded dragon and a ball python. Wow, that's a lot when I see them all listed! I have been a photographer for 17 years and recently started an organic feed company with my longtime friend and business partner who owns an organic pastured raised egg farm in Florida.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? It seems like every time I searched anything chickens BYC was right there at the top of the list!
