I'll admit I don't have any chickens. I'm actually a copywriter, and one of my clients owns a chicken-related business (sorry, I cna't tell you who but it's not one of those giant chicken conglomerates). Anyway I'm hoping to tap into your vast experience and knowledge on backyard chicken farming, but I'm also fascinated by keeping chickens as a hobby and its regenerative impact on the environment, and just want to live vicariously through you guys until I can get to a point where I can have my own chickens eventually.
I have friends and relatives who keep their own chickens, and I see the hard work and joy that comes out of it (and the eggs, oh the delicious eggs!) anyway I hope my less conventional reasons for joining won't put you off.
