Hi there my name Lynda in from central California I started raising chickens when my daughter got married and moved states away leaving me with a pair of buff orpingtons and a barred Plymouth rock to care for. As therapy for the empty nest blues I was feeling I focused on chicki manage and Chick-fil-A the orpington sisters and Dot my BPR. I was just amazed at how much personality these crazy chickens had. The BPR had her wings clipped by her previous owners (it broke my heart) so the other two kind of picken on her so she became my little shadow around the yard. I was fascinated at how intelligent these animals truly are. I learned so much from her like the fact that the communicate with their looks and head movements. That was several years ago and unfortunately they all passed on but I am officially a Bock Bock Math Whiz I replaced them with 4 and you know 4+4=16 and thats what my official count is at the moment. I have not purchased but 2 chickens the rest have come by way of rescue and I love everyone for their own reasons.
