My very first forum post ever. I guess all I wanted to say is hello to all my new chicken lover friends! I live in Arkansas and I have new family members: 8, two week old keets (guinea's) & 10 Rhode Island Red chicks that are about eight weeks old. I am having a blast raising my new babes. I never knew chickens could bring so much joy. My four year old girl and I are in this together and what fun we are having raising these peeps.
I do have one question: I put plain pine shavings in the keet box and have spread it on the floor of the hen house. They are picking at it; Will they eat the small pine and be harmed?
