Good afternoon,
I’ve been keeping chickens for a little over 7 months now and it’s been one of the most rewarding experience for my family. It all started with my daughters need to pull a baby tooth to make space for new permanent teeth. We had seen the adorable little peepers at TSC and she wanted one soooo badly. I made a deal with her that if she pulled her own tooth I would get her a baby chick...well, she did and we got 4 what were supposed to be pullets.
We ended up with 3 pullets and 1 cockerel. It’s true what they say, your flock WILL grow!
Since then we have become somewhat of a community of birds varying from age and breed. We have suffered loss and great triumph but look forward to learning more and gaining feedback from you all!
At this moment we have only 2 hens from our original 4 a Golden Comet named Princess Leia and a Black Sexlink named Minerva Louise, 2 Guinea Fowl named Odina and Storm (around 6 weeks old) and hopefully 5 pullets (a blue Cochin named Blueberry, a speckled Sussex named Buckbeak, a Leghorn named Sugar, a Buff Orphington named Eva and a very cockerel looking Light Brahma named Pigwidgeon.
