Hello To the Chicken World!!!

Hi everyone. Im a new beginner with chicks that are 5 weeks old. They are Buff Orpington. I can certianly say its a new beginning for me. Study the breeds..I decided with children at home I wanted some docile birds. Lots to learn. Bringing memories back from the past of my grandparents and my great grandparents having chickens that was free range. Oh yeah I remember going to sweep the yard...Im not old just 36. Then time has changed so much. I want my children know about livestock and a little farming. Along with the chicks..I have honeybees..three dogs..apple orchard....cherries tree and yes a big garden. I will post new pictures soon of my new coop and the chicks. Its fun reading and learning on here!!!

Welcome, buffswiger! It's nice to meet you. I'm new too, just have week old chicks for the first time. Your garden with cherries and honeybees sounds terrific!

Buff orpingtons are a great breed. Good luck with your chickens!
I agree, things move at an amazing pace these days, and I've seen a few big changes in my pretty short lifetime... I hope that we'll always appreciate nature though, whatever happens.
