(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We bought our first 12 chicks in spring of 2018. Added 6 more chicks and 2 aged hens in fall of 2018.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
After some predators and dispatching the 2 aged hens, we have 10 but just built a new larger coop to add upwards of 25-30 hens total.
(3) What breeds do you have?
All Golden CometS
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The daily chores, friendly chickens and the fresh eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Our children and playing outdoors
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 3 teenagers, a Newfoundland naked Tiger Lily, my wife is a small business owner of all-natural organic skin care products and I’m the Director of Production at a large church in Nashville.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
First web search on some topic back when we got our first chicks and have returned numerous times searching forums for useful info, answers and ideas!
