In the Brooder
I've been reading the forums for some time but finally took the plunge and got some fluffbutts of my own. They are 5 weeks old. I was planning on getting 6-8 chicks, so I have 10.
They are a mix of breeds that were available at the TSC so we have Easter Eggers, Barred Rocks, Cinnamon Queens, and Golden Comets and of course 1 chick that was supposed to be a Barred Rock and totally isn't.
We live in NC on 1.5 acres and I built something like an oversized Suscovich-style chicken tractor (that's tall enough for my spouse to stand up in) for the ladies. So far all is well, we're very much enjoying the new creatures in our lives and are learning learning learning.
Looking forward to getting to know y'all and continuing to learn and share. I feel like I'm just as bad as a brand new first time parent, my whole world is now chickens and my phone is overflowing with chicken photos. Hoping I can find good company among you!
Here's a recent Cuddle Puddle
