Hello y’all! From Winter Haven, Florida!

I’m excited to be a part of this community! I’ve been around poultry almost all my life. We have, at the moment, 56 chickens, ranging from Bantams and regular sized chickens.

13 Bantams (5 mons)consist of the Cochin breeds and three silkies. We have 7 regular adult chickens (8-9 mons) consisting of RIR, Blue laced red and gold laced Wyandottes, leghorn, and orpingtons.

The rests are 4-6 week old Easter Eggers, Faverolles, Orpingtons, Polish, Blue Copper Marans, Birchen Copper Marans, Silver Laced Wyondotte, and Fauvacanas.

I love seeing our 4 kids take care of the chickens especially our first chicks which were the Bantams. We moved into some acres this past March and I finally get to see my kids enjoy some farm life.

When we are not around chickens, our family play music together(piano, drums, saxophones, and karaoke).

I happened to stumble on BYC looking for ways to produce sage green eggs!

I’m looking forward to researching more breeds, coop designs, and just exchanging information in this forum.

Thanks,

Gerald
