I have two males ducks, a Welsh Harlequin and a Cayuga, and one female Pekin who wandered onto our property, injured, about seven months ago. I bought the baby males at a hardware store as company for the lone Pekin. I had no idea what sex they were or what type of duck breed. I just felt sorry for the injured female Pekin who was our lone duck. They seem to get along fine, but as a new duck owner, I need to learn more. So, I signed up on Backyard Chickens. Please feel free to give me advice. I am particularly interested in duck diseases and prevention, diet, and what the heck is that weird honk-whistle thing the males do. I thought our ducks were imitating the neighbor's mule!

Welcome to BYC. Once they reach maturity the drakes may aggressively start breeding the hen. Have a 'plan B' in case that happens.
