Hi Everyone,
I am new to raising backyard chickens and to this site. I have 4 hens (3) Buff Orphingtons and (1) white Bantam, we got them on March 11th and the Bantam and one of the Buff's gave us our first eggs on 7/4....the other 2 Buff's have not laid any eggs yet. Is this a normal occurrence?

All birds lay at different times, though they could be males. Have you had anyone check genders on them?

As @CascadiaRiver pointed out though, they just may be taking a bit longer than your other two.

Nice to see you on BYC! Some hens are late bloomers, and lay at different times, sometimes even a whole month after the rest. May I ask, where did you get these chicks? Are they supposed to be primarily female? Also, if you have any other questions, please message me. Thank you for joining our community!
