So excited to be part of this forum and learn more about chickens. We purchased our first chicks about 6 months ago. We have two light brahmas, two dark brahmas, and two Rhode island reds. Out of the 6 we ended up with one rooster which we will be trading out due to over aggression. We are excited to get our first eggs but also love our chickens as pets. I remember having chickens when I was growing up but that was a while ago. Anyway, happy to have joined and looking forward to all kinds of information.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! You have certainly come to the right place for lots of great info on all aspects of keeping poultry. Have you checked out the learning centre? It's a great place to start with lots of articles. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Hi, welcome to BYC!

x2 on Yorkshire coops' suggestion about checking out the Learning Center, there are some very good articles there on raising chickens (and other poultry).

I've never had Brahmas but we have had RIR's and I really like them. They have a lot of personality and are great egg layers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask...there are some very friendly and helpful members here and a lot of information available.

Nice to have you join us!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Sounds like you have a lovely flock. I've always wanted to raise brahmas!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. The first breed I ever got were Brahmas (50 years ago), and they were gentle giants. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
