Hello , my name is Sanjida . I just found a baby kitten on the street a week ago . It looked like it was about to die , so I took him in. I noticed one of his eyes are infected and he is sneezing a lot. I can't afford to go to the vet . Any treatment ? He is about 4 to 5 weeks old and is very playful

Well hi!

Welcome! Bless your heart for taking in the kitten. Kittens are very prone to upper respiratory viruses that can lead to secondary infections. If you can find a "cillin" antibiotic at a pet/feed store, or a sulfa drug, that would help. Amoxicillin is the standard go-to for kittens. You can find it at a pet store labeled for fish to avoid the vet. Google the proper dosage, that can get tricky, but you can google that as well. An antibiotic eye ointment will help too, also feed/pet store. Kitten probiotics are helpful as amoxi can cause diarrhea. Holler if you need more help.

You might be able to try calling around to different vets in your area and explain the situation to them. Perhaps one of them would be willing to provide you with an antibiotic without seeing the kitten, or perhaps they would see the kitten "pro bono". Sometimes you can also get very low cost vet services through your local humane society so you might want to try there as well.

Good luck!

It's nice you can take in the little guy. Cute pictures! How's the eye today?
