Hello all iam a new member. Ive had chickens for the past 6 years but this year my kids talked me in to ducks so i got 4. Before i knew it i noticed one was smaller and could not get around very well. Then after more investigation he has a deformed leg. I couldnt return him to tfc in a clear consious. I wasnt sure what they would doto him. So i kept him, seems i have a common bond since i am severly pigion toed myself as they call it. He cant move around he uses his bill to move and he cant swim. So i keep him in a small tote with food and a very small bowl of water. I clean him every day cuz he sits in his own poop. I have just recently hobbled his legs in hopes it will help and ive just learned about vitimans i will aquire them wednesday when i get paid. Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. Alas, i have no experience with ducks, but if you give him some vitamin supplement / electrolytes, as you plan, I hope it works out for you.

All the best

The only thing I have learned about ducks is they can suffer from a niacin deficiency. Please post on the "Duck thread," and see if this may be his problem.

I see you did post in the Ducks section as well. You'll get good advice there. Best of luck with the little one!
