I'm new. I have 6 hens and 5 chicks. We have a variety of breeds, some just because they're cute. We had a scary incident recently with a neighbors dog. Please read my thread in emergencies.

Glad you could join the flock! I'm so pleased to hear Peaches seems to have recovered, that was a very close call. She could be calling for her flock mates if you can't find an egg that is stuck. If she is seeming ok and eating and drinking well I would try to get her back in the flock as soon as possible.

She's back with the other girls, re established her place quickly. No one else seemed bothered by her return. Scary experience, thankfully our neighbor was outside loading up his truck for a turkey hunt and caught the chicken thief red pawed. The thief is on lockdown. Peaches suffered no more than slobbery feathers and a good scare.

Hope your neighbor will do a better job of keeping his dog on HIS property. You never hear of a chicken killing a dog. Glad to hear she is okay - what a scare!
