Hello! I am very new to the chicken world and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. In the last week I acquired my first set of chicks and currently have 5. I guess you could I say I rescued them as I purchased them at a flea market from a person who was not really taking care of them and only had an interest in making money off them. I have always wanted chickens and it was a plan for the future but I just couldnt walk away from those babies. With that being said I really dont know their breed and one has mangled feet that I'm trying to correct.
Outside of my new found love for chickens I have always been an animal lover and spent 10 years working in animal hospitals and rescues. For the past two years I have been working as an Advocate in a domestic violence and sexual assault program. I guess it'd be safe to say that my passion is in helping others.
I'm excited to have found this group because there seems to be a plethora pf knowledge and I need all of the help I can get!

. Great that you joined our flock. I also applaud your work with animal rescue and now domestic violence and sexual assault victims. Not enough people advocating in that area.
