We've had chickens for 4 years, ducks for 1.5 but due to a predator problem have started over. We now have 1 kakhi campbell duck that survived from the previous flock + 1 cayuga duck, and 4 hens (2 cuckoo maran and 2 ameraucana).

I've visited BYC many times early in our chicken keeping and have found it a great resource. My main project at the moment is permaculturing the poultry pen area -- especially getting the duck pond setup. Looks like there is lots of knowledge here regarding that, too. Looking forward to participating in the community here.

I am sorry to hear of your losses and having to start over :(

I do hope though that you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
