Hello,
I am not new to chickens but we did add several "new to us" varieties this year.
This year we have 17 pullets, including the breeds: Barred Rock, Buff Orphington, and Maran.
And I also have 5 dozen eggs in the incubator with Easter eggers, Blue Orphington, Americanna, and Welsummer. I grew up on the farm we are currently living on and we have always had animals of many varieties with milking cows, dairy goats and rabbits being some of them. And from time to time we would raise our own chickens.
Last year my son decided to get Muscovy duck so we also have them.
So now that I have children of my own we are trying to grow the majority of our food and know what is going into it.
I am glad to be part of the BYC site and look forward to learning more about chickens!
