Thank you so much! This is so nice of you to put together!!! We already have this HUGE chicken coop that we made ourselves. it is so big we call it the Taj Mahen! I can't believe I have had chickens so long without knowing about this site. WE have had hens pass away of illness that you guys probably could have helped diagnose. I hope we continue interacting in this fine flock, and I promise not to take dominance in the pecking order!
Many Thanks! :wee:celebrate:yesss:

Hi, I am Cassie, aka the Chicken Whisperer!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I have had chickens for about 6 years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

14 hens and a rooster!

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have Americaunas (2 hens and a roo), 1 Barred Rock, 3 Black Stars, 1 Golden Comet, 2 Blue Splash Marans, and 5 Swedish Flower Hens.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Just kind-of found it online!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I sail, surf, read, fly fish, camp, rock climb, travel, and wolf-watch.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I live with my super cool mom and dad, a cute Chocolate Lab, and a variety of fish. We live in Carmel Valley, California near the ocean, and every summer we go to Yellowstone and Montana. My favorite type of chicken is either a Sicilian Buttercup or a Swedish Flower.

Hooray! Nice to meet you all! (Sorry about the overuse of exclamation marks; I am just really excited!)
:celebrate :goodpost: :welcome

Hi The Chicken Whisperer,

Welcome to BYC!

So why Sicilian Buttercups? We thought about a buttercup hen because we thought they were pretty, but I wan't sure about them being flighty, etc.

Is that your experience? Or do you find them to be pretty calm?
