We have nine chickens (Buff orpingtons, Easter eggers), and we just hatched five baby chicks (3 to our little momma {went broody} and two through incubation). Golden comets and olive eggers are the new breed. We started last April with baby chicks shipped to us from Cackle Hatchery. We just had 30 duck eggs shipped to us which so far on day 7 incubation 20 are viable. Their breeds are Ancona and Khaki Campbell.

I am a stay at home parent to two little boys (3 years old and 11 months- contemplating a third). We have four dogs and a cat, and we are looking to get a bunny to add to our household as well. We also foster animals through a local non-profit organization- only have done cats and kittens thus far. So that is why the screenname is zookeeper .

I have known about BYC for awhile because I have googled questions on chicken and ducks. This site pops up a lot with the same questions. Unbelievably helpful!:)
