Hi,
I’m in the south central PA area. I’ve had chickens for about 2 years now, raising for eggs. I currently have a mixed flock with 2 Easter Egger, 2 ISA browns, one Austrolop, and one Buff Orpington. I did have another Austrolop, two RIR and two Silver Lace Wyandottes, but they were carried away by predators. ‘Looking forward to being apart of the threads vs just reading them!

Welcome to BackYard Chickens!

I'm so sorry about your losses. Do you have lots of predators where you live... or hawks? Are your chickens free range? You might want to try keeping them in a run with netting over the top, or try to offer more places for them to hide nearby... trees and bushes, a wagon to scoot under, maybe a tarped shelter. If your neighborhood allows, a good rooster could watch for hawks or other predators and warn the flock to get to safety. This article may help give you some ideas: Predator Proofing
