After referring to Backyard chickens frequently for my flock, I have finally decided that it would be best if I just joined! Thank you for having this site as I truly enjoy it. I have accumulated several birds in the upper range of around 25 or so bigger chickens. I've got a Yokahama, a pair of Silver lace Brahmas, Millie de Fleur, Lavender Cochins, Orpingtons of several types and a rooster just to name a few. I've also got 15 White Leghorns and JSA Brown 3 month old chicks, One standard tom, 1 Blue Slate hen and 3 white turkey chicks and a few guineas. We've battled lice and mites, low weight-still learning- and learned how important it is to quarantine ANY new birds(s) added to the flock. We've also got pigs and a dairy goats as well as dogs and a few kitties. I hope I am putting this in the right part as this is where I was directed but it doesn't look right.....anyways, thanks again and I look forward to further knowledge for my little homestead!!

You did it right. Great introduction.

Welcome to BYC. I used to raise Durocs long ago, never raised goats though.
I've done goats with my Aunt for close to 12 years. They really are easy. She, in the past 4-5 years, has gotten into the dairy goats. I love them! They are so docile compared to the others and you get tasty milk! The pigs on the other hand I am new to, this being my first year. So far so good, for now.
