Thanks! My parents' ideal breed is ayam cemani, but I am helping them look at ones that are friendly, calm, quiet, hardy, and very affordable.

I've been lurking this website and other chicken/poultry sites for at least 5 years. I came across BYC a in a Google search on requirements and tips to raise chickens. I finally decided to join because my parents recently retired and wanted to raise a few chickens.
