Just wanted to say Hello, I've been reading the threads here for about a year. Lots of great advice and pictures and then I just had a bit of an issue so I decided to join today, and post.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes well, I started with ducks almost 12 weeks ago. Ours are for meat and eggs.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 23 Saxony (1 might be a pekin or white layer or white saxony dont know- 11 weeks ), 39 cornish cross (2 weeks) and we had 16 but have 9 muscovys left (4/5 weeks).
(3) What breeds do you have?
saxony, cornish cross, muscovy
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I honestly love my ducks. Will go for a different breed of chickens next year. Most likely a heritage breed. I think Im going to continue raising heritage breeds.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
attempting to slowing get it inot hobby farming so eventually we can have a homestead. (currently share greenhouse space, all the poultry and we have bees at home).
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
only additional ets are two pretty awesome German Shepards.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
google searching every question ive ever head and backyard chickens always pops up with sound advice. Theirs not alot of information about ducks out there I hope to be able to add useful contributions in the future.
