Hello!!

Yes it's winter here, we don't usually get much snow, but do upon occasion. It's early morning for me and late evening for you. How close are you to the fires?

Really far, I'm in lower victoria so it's unlikely to spread that far, especially since ive heard the fire is calming down now. But I remember one time during the peak of the fires i was in class and everyone was staring out the window and pointing at the sky, so I looked and the sky was bright red during the middle of the day. It also smelt like charcoal in the air. We all panicked, thinking the fire had spread to us, but it was just a dust storm. That thoroughly freaked me out though, I really don't know what I would do in that situation. It's such a shame to see all the destruction the fires are causing. It was trending on twitter the other day that during all of this fire (and a volcano erupted a few days ago on an island and heaps of australians were killed) the prime minister is currently on holiday in hawaii so loads of people are really angry at him.

Hello and welcome to BYC! This is a great place to learn and share your adventures in chicken keeping. We get lots of snow here in New England. Actually, it's been snowing off and on for this whole month. Our total is around 30 inches so far. It's really pretty.
