Welcome, I have two Buff Orpingtons in my mixed flock. I live in Ohio close to the great lake Erie, Lots of cloudy days in winter. The Buff Orpington pkumage seems to glow compared to my other chickens on cloudy days. Take notice of your Orpingtons do they look brighter on your gloomy days? I bet they do. Buff Orpingtons are perfect beginner chickens.

I'm pretty sure that you meant to quote someone else, because I don't have any Orpington's.
