Hello

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Can you brood the chicks within sight of the current flock? What type of housing are you using for such an enormous flock?
Honestly, I have enough space till they're about 6 weeks old. Then I plan on taking the 130 or so expected BAs to my family's farm. I will be keeping the rest that are composed of silkies, Plymouth rocks and this breed called Heavy buffs which will total around an expected 80. For these I have a 160 sq ft coop . Besides the coop they will have around 16000 sq ft to roam. I really hope these are enough.

Hello! Welcome to BYC!! :frow How many square feet of roosting space do you have in that coop? That's going to be pretty darn tight for all of those birds, especially being large fowl. When they wake up in the morning, is the run secure so they can immediately disperse?
I might have used the term coop wrong, the "coop" is only for roosting and everything, including their hatching crates, food and water supply are separate. There's got to be around 50-60 feet of perches for roosting but I will have to check. And yea the run is secure, and while they will have one door to exit from, i'd assume they'd still immediately disperse.
