Hello

Hello! :frow

I’m a bit partial towards buff Orpingtons...
Me too. I had bought my nephew and his son 5 started pullets last May that included a Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Dominique, Golden Comet and an Easter Egger. They have done very well together and make a pretty flock. And they lay eggs most every day. I got them from Blue House farm in Fletcher, NC and the lady there is super nice.

Hi Beth! Welcome to BYC!
Buff Orpingtons are a wonderful breed! As are barred Rocks! Easter Eggers and cream Legbars give you colorful eggs... Faverolles are sweet and goofy.... 🤔
This is one way chicken math starts... how to choose just one breed when there are SO many 😁

I have my work cut out for me! I’m taking my time and focusing on my coop and run way in advance of getting them. I’m starting at 2-4 to start. I’m ignoring chicken math! I want to see how that goes first. Lol I really wanted at least two Silkies but most sites require so many and they aren’t sexed so I’m not sure I’d do that. What would I do with males?? I am not allowed to have roosters. I feel like that would be irresponsible to do if I didn’t have someone who would take the males... any advise? I’m already looking on pets for sale etc sites and I contacted shelters to let them know I’m interested if they have any come in.
