Thanks for creating such a helpful forum, I've been coming here for a couple of years but never registered...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
building the enclosure and coop in the next couple of weeks and will bring home at least 4 chickens as soon as it's ready
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
never had chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
not sure which breeds there are and which I should get but a local farm is of great help in this area
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
fresh eggs and chickens are so cute!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
living on a horse ranch with 7 cats and several horses, you could say that's our hobby
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
as a university professor, I've been fortunate to be able to teach mostly from home, leaving me with a lot more time to take care of formerly homeless felines and horses; some of it is hard work, but it's also incredibly rewarding nursing animals back to health and giving them a happy home
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
found it by searching online a few years ago, and since we're bring home our first chickens, I thought it would be a great place to get advice and info
