Hello Everyone,
I just joined this group, but have to admit that I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks. Right now, I don't have any chickens, coop, run, supplies or anything. I am here to learn first and hopefully make smart decisions from researching here and learning from everyone before getting started. Since my husband and I live in the suburbs, our plan is to have no more than six hens for eggs. Our goal is to to eventually sell our home in the burbs and purchase some property where we can have our own little homestead- hopefully within the next five years or so. We have no kids, but we do have two spoiled-rotten dogs and a couple of older, lazy, indoor house cats. Right now, we both work full-time so we can save for our future goals of living a simpler, quiet, peaceful life without the hustle and bustle of the city.
I am looking forward to learning all about what works for you all and learning from your experiences in raising backyard chickens!
