My name is Mackin and I live in South Carolina.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am a new chicken mama. I got them at one week old, and they're now almost 6 weeks old!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Three hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 golden comets and one ISA Brown.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love seeing their personalities unfold! They are so loving and playful.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to travel, hang out with my friends and family, and I LOVE animals.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have an amazing family who all love the chicks. I have a golden retriever who is the chicks "guard dog". He is old, and loves to lay beside them and let them jump on his back! I am a social worker!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have a friend who own chickens and she said this is their go-to site for all things chickens. I have been googling questions, and always end up taking advice from BYC so decided it was time to join.
