Hello and welcome! I have chickens that free range during the day and go to their coop in the evening. Sometimes they want to be bad and perch out on my back porch. When they do this I just put them in the coop and they have to stay in the coop for 2 days. I don’t feed them outside the coop when they are ranging. This has seemed to help because now they go to their coop every evening no problem. I go out every night about 8:30 pm and count them to make sure all made it in and close the door. I let them back out in the morning. I’ve already had a fox get 2 of my chickens when I let them stay out so I don’t let them stay out at night anymore.
