Hi! My name is Marissa, and I'm new here.
My husband wanted chickens for years, and I was always kind of on the fence about it until recently. Our next door neighbors were moving, and had four adult hens that they couldn't take with them. So we decided to jump right in! The original four are named Ruth, Gladys (both Rhode Island Reds), Minnie, and Georgia. (Both were sold to our neighbors listed as ISO Browns.) After having them for a few weeks, I absolutely fell in love, and we decided to expand our flock! We have two kids, so we took them along and everyone picked out a new little chick, and we also got two black australorp chicks. The australorps are named Clementine and Harriet, although as they grow, I am thinking Harriet is actually a Harry.
The other four chicks are a polish crested named Daisy, a blue-laced wyandotte named Penny, and two olive eggers named Aretha and Rosa! We are absolutely loving the chicken life, and I am quickly becoming a crazy chicken lady! Thanks for reading!
