Hi!
I live in NorCal and have 5 chickens. 3 buff orpingtons and 2 others. They were sold to me as ameracaunas but they don’t look like true ameracaunas so I’m thinking they’re Easter eggers. They are almost 5 months old.
I’ve learned a lot reading the threads for several months but only just decided to make an account because one of mine seemed to be having a bad reaction to the smoke and I don’t know where to turn for help on this topic.

If it's some thick smoke coming from wildfires I would recommend moving them to a nearby non-smoky location if able to. Otherwise maybe move them somewhere inside with ventilation temporarily until the smoke clears a bit.

I moved them into the garage. The one that sounded poorly is sounding better than she did but still not all the way back to normal so hopefully that’s helping. In all my preparing for chickens I did not anticipate this issue. Thanks for sharing the state thread!

Good luck in the fires, smoke inhalation can definitely harm and or kill them. The garage is good, even a basement if you have one. Stay safe out there!
