(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens and we hatched our first chick in August. He was hatched with a heating pad and the will of my children.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Now we have fifteen chickens. We didn’t believe it when people said that keeping chickens was addictive.

(3) What breeds do you have? We have one Easter Egger, our special heating pad hatch rooster, Fuzzy. Five Silkie chicks, one frizzle who i think is also a roo but very cute. Six olive eggers, three i think are boys, and two Rhode Island Red Buff Orpington crosses.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love watching them and caring for them. They do so many silly things. Ive hatched all of mine and watching them as chicks is so much fun. Watching them grow and learn is like watching a child grow and learn.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I paint and draw the plants i grow. I keep koi as well and sell the water plants i grow.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I sell and grow succulents. We have five cats, twelve koi and two plecos. My sons love that we are keeping chickens now and have named almost all of them.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? i found out about BYC because i kept looking up information on google and found this site to be so helpful. I decided to finally join because this community seems more supportive than Facebook. :)
