Hi there, I've been stalking the forum for less than a year and have found so much great advice. Thanks to all the people who post help here.
We have 9 birds that were inherited from neighbors who moved. They range in age from 4 to 8 or so. We inherited ten birds but the oldest, who they think was 10 or 11, died a few months later of natural causes. We're in a residential neighborhood with no roosters allowed, but since our yard is fenced we let them out most days which they really seem to enjoy. Neighbors enjoy it too - we often hear comments from people who notice them pecking around the yard.
Edited to note that we're in the U.S. in Indiana, so our birds definitely experience all four seasons.
