Welcome to BYC! I am also from Texas and live in a HOA area. My plan is to have them in a shed (kind of like in-door chickens with free roaming periods during the day) and I would recommend not have a rooster as they have that constant crowing. There is a rooster collar but I do not know how effective they are.
