I'm in UK, have been keeping hens for 14+ years in back gardens in Herts and Worcs. I currently have 16 including Faverolles, Campines, Cream Legbars, Pekins and one Buff Orpington and one Ancona bantam (the oldest at about 9 years and my favourite). One of the Favs has a wry neck developed as she was coming into lay again in January which brought me to the forum for advice, as has also a recent freak and distressing accident in which (I think) a young Fav jumped up in the food melee, bumped her head, dislocated her neck and died after flapping on the ground for 10 secs. The wry neck Fav is still going and laying well on vitamin E + selenium supplement administered on grapes and I hope will eventually recover when she stops laying in September. Anyway, it's a good forum!
