I have a mixed flock of 11 six week old chicks. All girls this time. Faverolles, Barnevelder, Buff Orpington, Speckled Sussex and Easter Eggers. I ordered 10 from the hatchery, lost one in mail and one just recently to an owl but still have more than I ordered! The hatchery was very generous. Several years ago I had separate flocks of Buff Orpingtons and Buff Brahmas. Both of those breeds were easy and pretty bomb proof. This new little flock is different. Change is a big deal with these girls with the Faverolles being the shyest for the most part. I’m hoping time will help, their personalities are just really coming on. I’m thrilled and thankful to have found BYC. I look forward to participating. I spend a lot of time thinking about my chickens and which chicks I should order next Spring!
