Plan well. My best advice is to make your coop as large as possible and a good size pen possibly covered to protect the birds from aerial predators. Everything likes chicken. You may be planning on free ranging but remember it is a risk you take and sooner or later your birds will be discovered and there will be losses from predators. A covered pen is good for when you can't watch the birds or get distracted. Many lessons learned the hard way. You will find a lot of good information here Good luck with your plans and have fun...
