I know you wrote that they are let out but how large is their enclosure and what is in it for enrichment?
What exactly are you feeding them, including treats?
Blood streaks on eggs are due to ruptured blood vessels from straining to expel the egg. It can be due to the hen being overweight. Layers should somewhat lean and should have lots of exercise to keep them fit.

Their pen is approximately 200 square feet of forest bed and foliage. When we are out in the yard they come out of the penned in area and follow us. We feed them laying mash and greens from local grocery store. How much should we be feeding them so they do not become overweight? Winter months they do not get near as much activity and their egg production drops to very few, some days none. Currently we have no hens. Waiting for 6 sex links to arrive early April. They will be 18 weeks old. Hoping we won’t run into the blood streaking with this new group of girls.
