Hi! I'm Katie. I first started raising backyard chickens when I lived in Virginia in 2013. I started out with three Brahma chicks from Cackle Hatchery 
I currently have 5 2-year-old Barred Rock hens and 3 Golden Laced Wyandotte chicks (the 4th Wyandotte chick sadly passed early this morning
).
I enjoy watching my chickens and their funny little personalities. Free pest control and eggs are a nice bonus
Our family has also had four rescue dogs over the past 15 or so years, and we were adopted by a neighborhood cat in 2019. She's a strictly inside kitty now so I don't have to worry about her stalking my hens, although she does like to chitter at them from the window ledge.
