Glad to meet you, Kelly. Yeah, apparently, it IS normal, and up to you to fix it. Best wishes with your birds and all your plans!
Tips for rehoming cockerels and roosters:
1. Use your local Craigslist and if your Facebook has a marketplace, use that, too.
2. Also use BYC's State thread for your area(s)
3. For every place you post, be sure and note your town or county so folks know how far they might drive to pick up the bird. Also use the best "glamor" shots you can get of the boys to help them get a good home.

Good luck rehoming the boys. There are always too many looking for homes.
