Had some Peking’s about 10 years ago for several years and loved them, sadly living out in the country in Kansas things got them probably foxes. Moved to southern Louisiana recently and now that I’m no longer out in the country I started missing all my farm animals and several people in my neighborhood have chickens (that I usually have to wait for to cross the road in the mornings on my way home lol) so I convinced my husband to let me get some ducks. Good ole tractor supply down here had some unique ducklings so I got one of each. Still not 100% sure what kinds they are after scouring the internet several times. Sadly they aren’t friendly but I still enjoy them so much, i can watch them for hours. Contemplating getting two more but have to figure out what I have for sure and go from there figuring out what else I want.

Thank you! I’m fairly certain the grey one is, the black ones head shines green and so does parts of its back so I have it narrowed down to black East Indian or Cayuga. The black and white one is either an ancona or magpie maybe. As a duckling and even now it has black spots on its feet and bill though it’s bill has merged to almost a grayish mottled color. They are only like 2-3 months old.

Thank you, that is what I was also thinking. Any way of telling gender besides waiting to see who lays eggs and who doesn’t? I’m guessing the Cayuga is a female, the pictures don’t show her colors well but she isn’t extremely green and today I noticed her body seems almost slightly brown tinted.

How old are they? They look old enough to voice sex. Males will have a quiet "whap whap" sound and females will have a loud "quack quack".

Why wait? They are excellent with kids. My current girl Bella, the one in my avatar, is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known.
The black male I had I could have released unattended in a daycare and he would have been in his glory he loved kids so much.
Incidentally, all 6 of the Dobies I've owned have been adopted as adults.
