Welcome to BYC!! Merry Christmas! My name is Jessica and I recently became a first time chicken owner 5 weeks ago. I found this sight by googling for pictures of the difference between a roo or hen. I currently have 8 5 week old chicks and they are all different breeds from straight run bin at rural king. At least a couple times a week if not every other day I'm googling hen or roo photos lol .
Thankyou! I actually don't celebrate Christmas but I hope you have a wonderful time with your family!Welcome to BYC!! Merry Christmas!

Your good no need to apologizeOh, sorry! I hope you have a nice month then!
It varies some try at 12 weeks and the older hens put a stop to that. Some don't even think about it until 5 months or older. I think the average advice is to separate them around 12 to 14 weeks.Very good to know thankyou! What about age do the roos come into breeding?
