Hello!

Glad to meet you, and welcome to BYC. You did a great job adding that hardware cloth apron on the perimeter of your coop there!

Your chickens look so chill and comfortable with you. Buff orpingtons are such awesome birds.

You might check out this information on coop and run size, and info on ventilation:

* Ventilation (important to chicken health), with helpful links to coop designs organized by climate (because what is just right for my New England hens won't work for my brother's Arizona chickens)

* Farmers Almanac on Building Coops (Includes size requirements!) Allowing plenty of space for chickens is really important because, even as chicks, they will start pecking each other or plucking their own feathers, or become unhealthy if they are overcrowded. Here is a link to Colorado State Extension's publication on space and temperature requirements for chicks as they age.

Welcome. Your chicks are so cute. You did a great job with hardware cloth around your run. You may want to make your run bigger pretty soon. Many issues with chickens can be solved with space, reduce pecking, reduce boredom, give chickens lower on the pecking order a place to go, etc...It will make your life and your chickens lives better.
