Stopped raising chickens when I was pregnant with my 5th child and we had had some bear attacks. Started a new flock this spring and my 5th child is now almost ten and turning into a fantastic little chicken farmer. We have a cochin bantam roo, and 11 hens... Silver laced pekin (bantam), 2 easter eggers, 3 buff orpingtons (one is a mix we believe), 1 lavender orpington, 1 blue Australorp, a speckled sussex, buckeye, and a cuckoo marans. All lovely in their own ways. A couple of hens have started laying sweet little eggs.![]()
