Hello

Hi! Been a part of backyard chickens before. Ages ago. Stopped raising chickens when I was pregnant with my 5th child and we had had some bear attacks. Started a new flock this spring and my 5th child is now almost ten and turning into a fantastic little chicken farmer. We have a cochin bantam roo, and 11 hens... Silver laced pekin (bantam), 2 easter eggers, 3 buff orpingtons (one is a mix we believe), 1 lavender orpington, 1 blue Australorp, a speckled sussex, buckeye, and a cuckoo marans. All lovely in their own ways. A couple of hens have started laying sweet little eggs. 😊
What a great intro. You busy Mama! you. I'm glad you got back into it for the kiddos too. And great selection of hens. Glad you're back.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm very much appreciating what fun it is to have chickens again for my family. What I didn't mention is my oldest just got married but shortly before she did, she took care of the chicks in the brooder with my youngest. She was always my best chicken keeper and she is passing it on to him. And when she comes to visit it is so sweet to see them out together with the flock. 😁
