I am new member. I live in Louisiana and my husband and I have 7 Hens less than a year old. A couple of days ago our white leghorn was bleeding from her rear but was able to lay an egg. we noticed she was inflamed but not in her vent, looks like a polyp developed from straining, we guess. Has anyone encountered this issue with a hen?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sounds like Prolapse, the egg is difficult to pass and the hen pushes so hard she pushes her insides out. Definitely post in our Emergency forums for help treating her, @LTAY1946 has left you the link above. I hope she will be ok! :hugsOh and in the future, make sure she does not get dehydrated and has access to plenty of oyster shell for hard shells on the egg.
