Tips:
1. Start with hatchery pullets to prevent disease in your flock
2. Don't buy straight run because you'll probably get way too many male chicks
3. Build a nice walk-in coop for easy cleaning and care (or convert a shed)
4. Build a covered run with hardware cloth to prevent predators and to allow your birds out when the weather isn't good (be sure and Build where there is good drainage so you don't have to deal with muddy poop.
